Hi there. I’m Jennifer, the host of this site, author of the blog An American in Durham, and co-host of the podcast You Say Toma(h)to. I’m originally from the east coast of the US but I’ve been living in various parts of the UK for the past three years including Durham, Leicester, and Cambridge.
I am currently a PhD student at the University of Leicester where I am working on a project to better understand the long-term impact of social justice museum exhibitions on visitors. It’s been a roller coaster of a ride but it has also given me the opportunity to work with some amazing people in both the UK and US.
When I’m not pulling my hair out writing an 80,000 word thesis, I’m singing in choirs, training for 10Ks (and one day triathlons), playing board games and World of Warcraft, reading books, working various odd jobs, and travelling. On the whole it’s a pretty great life and I’m lucky to have it. I hope you enjoy the things I make here and I hope you keep coming back.
